MASSAGE BENIFITS
Massage is great for relieving muscle pain and relaxing the whole body. Swedish massage increases the level of oxygen in the blood, decreases muscle toxins, improves circulation and flexibility. Studies have shown a significant decrease in levels of the stress hormone cortisol and an increase in the white blood cells of the immune system after a 45 minute massage.
The techniques used in Swedish massage are effleurage, pettrissage, friction, percussion and stretching.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A TREATMENT
Once you have filled in the medical intake form and discussed the treatment with your therapist, you will be left alone to undress to your comfort level. When you are ready, lie down on the massage table and cover yourself with the towel provided. The therapist will knock before entering. The therapist will then apply oil in a gliding movement to cover the area to be worked on with firm yet gentle strokes while working in the direction of blood flow towards the heart.
Allways tell your therapist if you are uncomfortable or if you are cold, don’t want to be touched in a specific area, don’t like the music or are experiencing any discomfort.
Once the treatment is over the therapist will leave you alone to dress. It is recommended that you drink a glass of water after your massage to help flush out any toxins.
Full body massage: 1 hour treatment
